BIO

Angela (Ang) Bey (they/them) is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist from Philadelphia. Their art favors complex, difficult inquiries about society - centering the lives of Black folx. They create to inspire decolonization, joy, honesty, and healing -- believing it is our duty to build utopia we may not live to see. Ang is co-artistic director of Wings of Paper Theatre Co. and Shoe Box Theatre Collective. Lantern Theater Company Presents Lynn Nottage's FABULATION in June

Lantern Theater Company will conclude its 2021/22 Mainstage Season of live performances with the Philadelphia premiere of Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage. Making her Lantern directorial debut, Amina Robinson helms a cast of Philadelphia actors in a true ensemble production, with eight actors playing nearly 30 roles.
Philadelphia Theatre Company Announces Stephanie Kyung Sun Walters as 2022 Winner of the Terrance McNally Award

Philadelphia Theatre Company has announced the second winner of the revived Terrence McNally Award. In 2021, the theatre awarded the first of the newly reinstituted award to Donja R. Love. This year the recipient is Montgomery County Stephanie Kyung Sun Walters (she/her) for the final part of her Koreatown Trilogy, Acetone Wishes and Plexiglass Dreams.

Directed by Sam Tower, with lead writer Alexandra Espinoza, this dance theatre performance is filled with pirates, scooters, jokes, and more. The show begins at 6pm nightly, with timed entry and reservations available for free to the public.
Shakespeare in Clark Park Will Present GERMANTOWN PLAYS PERICLES This Month

Festivities in Vernon Park begin at 5:30pm each evening with a fair including interactive art installations, games, resource tables, a mutual aid station, reunion photo booth, drumming, and more. The evening culminates with an original 30-minute play at 7pm that refracts Shakespeare's PERICLES through a poetic story which centers Black Germantown and the community's fight against gentrification. This event is free and open to the public.

4th Annual Philly Theatre Week Announced for April

Curtains up. Theatre Philadelphia has announced the return of Philly Theatre Week from April 22 to May 2, 2021. After a year of dark stages, millions in lost ticket sales and thousands of lost jobs, the Philadelphia theatre scene will rise again after the pandemic shut-downs with 11 days, 64 organizations, 72 events, and hundreds of performances.
Shakespeare In Clark Park Brings Free Theater, Music & Love To The City This Summer

What would summer be without live music, a wild love triangle, and mistaken identities? Add into that mix free entertainment, a picnic under the stars and the Bard and you have this year's edition of Shakespeare in Clark Park (SCP). SCP will showcase Philadelphia's finest actors alongside local student musicians for a glam rock inspired Twelfth Night, directed by Jack Tamburri, which is set to run July 25-29, 2018 in Clark Park in West Philadelphia. The show will wrap up with a special 'Fifth Night Feast' Fundraiser before the show on July 29.
