Grace and the Hanukkah Miracle is based on a concept by Anderson Lawfer, Nicole Bloomsmith, Becca Braun and Jacqueline Stone, with direction by Jacqueline Stone. Opening/Press performance is Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. The performance schedule is Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Please note: there is no show Sunday, Dec. 15. The Forks & Hope Ensemble is pleased to announce The Art Box, a series of three new work development workshops this summer as a resident company at Hairpin Arts Center in Logan Square. "This year, Forks & Hope has committed to thoughtfully generating new material. We are laying the groundwork for future productions while pushing our artistic boundaries," says Artistic Director Aileen McGroddy. "The Forks & Hope process requires that we play with material to discover its unique theatrical language, and The Art Box allows us to do just that."

Forks & Hope Ensemble Presents A HERO'S JOURNEY
After four years as a resident company in Strawdog Theatre's Hugen Hall, The Forks & Hope Ensemble is producing their first fully devised work at Jackalope's Frontier this August. A Hero's Journey uses Joseph Campbell's 'hero's journey' theory to explore humanity's impulse to tell and re-tell stories of mythological heroes. Using the ensemble's trademark playful, movement-based aesthetic, each performer goes on their own heroic journey, which reveals parallels to their own lives. Audience members can expect to meet epic characters like Odysseus, King Sejong, and Psyche on a human scale in an intimate, imaginative setting.
