The Allen Davis Playwriting Lab announces its Fall Season starting October, 2020. The Fall Season will consist of ten weekly sessions of two and half hours for intermediate and professional playwrights. Lab sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting on October 13th.
The Allen Davis Playwriting Lab Announces Spring Season
The Allen Davis Playwriting Lab announces its Spring Season starting March, 2020. The Spring Season will consist of ten weekly sessions of two and half hours for intermediate and professional playwrights. Lab sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting on March 17th. Playwrights interested in participating in the Lab on an intermediate level must have experience writing well-developed scenes; professional playwrights must have written a full-length produceable level script. Playwrights that are new to the Lab must submit a finished scene (intermediate level) or a play (professional level) in advance for consideration to be invited to take part as auditors on the first session, after which they may be invited to join.

Playwrights interested in participating in the Lab on an intermediate level must have experience writing well-developed scenes. Professional playwrights must have written a full-length produceable level script.
Playwright Domnica Radulescu Set for EXILE IS MY HOME Talkback at Theater For The New City, 5/21
?Theater For The New City is pleased to announce a special talkback with internationally renowned author Domnica Radulescu and director Andreas Robertz, following the Saturday, May 21, 8:00 pm performance of Exile Is My Home. Told as a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic fairy tale, Exile Is My Home is the haunting story of Mina and Lina, a refugee couple from the Balkans traveling through the galaxy in search of a planet to call home. The play combines absurdist comedy, irony and suspense to raise consciousness about the current international refugee crisis and the complexity of issues related to it. The story emerged partly from Radulescu's own experience as a political refugee from the former communist dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu and other accounts of displacement. As millions of people are uprooted from their homes and swept across tumultuous seas and often unwelcome lands, Exile Is My Home highlights the importance of immigrant theater in bringing awareness about many of the challenges facing our world today.

Experimental electronic musician, Alexander Tanson, announces the compostion of an original soundtrack for the new play by internationally renowned author, Domnica Radulescu. Directed by Andreas Robertz, Exile Is My Home, is a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic fairy tale inspired by the playwrights experience as a political refugee from the former communist dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu. The original music and sound design follow the themes and events of the play revolving around nostalgia, exile, surreal landscapes and absurd, sometimes violent events. The result is a soundtrack moving between ambient soundscapes, emotional melodies, and surreal sound collages.

Natalie Birriel is proud to announce a performance of her autobiographical solo show Speak! at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center tonight, March 28th at 7:30 pm. Directed by Andreas Robertz, Speak! is a 90's music driven show about Natalie's journey from being a stutterer who couldn't say her own name to not being able to shut up! Speak! is a heartbreakingly funny and inspirational tale for anyone who has ever felt held back from saying what they truly wanted to say! This special performance is part of the Rough Draft Festival at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City.

Along with another couple, the unexpected incident forces them to explore issues of trust, failed expectations, jealousy, race and the true nature of their love. CHARLOTTE'S SONG Set for TNC, 4/24-5/11
'Charlotte's Song' by Nancy Ferragallo is a performance-based experimental work that explores a daughter's reality of growing up with her schizophrenic mother and how that impacted her life and healing process. It is a poetic collective of monologues, dialogue scenes and movement theater in the style of the Tanz Theater of Pina Bausch. The work is co-directed by Andreas Robertz and Mario Golden and co-choreographed by Nancy Ferragallo and Celeste Hastings.

Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia.

Theater for the New City Presents DECEIT by Richard Ploetz, Now thru 1/27
'Deceit' is a suspenseful and compelling play by Richard Ploetz that reveals how far some people are willing to take their lies to protect the fragile nature of 'being normal.' Theater for the New City will present the piece, directed by Andreas Robertz, tonight, January 10 to 27 in its Cino Theater.
