BIO
Recently seen this summer in New York Times Critics’ Pick Seize the King as Queen Woodville. In 2019, Patterson completed Dominique Morisseau’s three-play cycle at Detroit Public Theatre as Silver in Paradise Blue. TV credits include “Blue Bloods,” “Manifest” and “Jessica Jones.” In addition, Patterson is an applied theatre artist using drama to engage students in social/emotional learning. Patterson is a proud Detroit native and a graduate of Purchase College Acting Conservatory.

Though the language is easy to imagine as the foundation for a more ostentatious spectacle, the sweeping narration is deftly relayed by a mighty fistful of actors and a polished trio of dancers in a way that allows grand battles and weighty sociopolitical musings to service the intrinsic poetry of the contemporary text.

The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances.
