A teacher and playwright from Cambridge, Massachusetts, Andrea Aptecker is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America. She was named a finalist in the 2023 Gary Garrison Playwriting Award for 10-Minute Plays (I'M GLAD WE'RE NORMAL) and a 2022 semifinalist in the Garry Marshall New Works Festival. Her plays and monologues have been performed in the United States and UK. Andrea’s monologue, IT’S NICE TO BE OUT IN SOCIETY, was selected as a finalist winner in the 2021 Hear Me Out Monologue Competition and received the Audience Favorite Prize. Her new play, UNREQUITED, which one reviewer called, “lyrical, witty, seductive and dark – and always spellbinding,” is available with Next Stage Press. UNAPOLOGETIC, a 10-minute play presented at the Boston Theater Marathon, is available in the Boston Theater Marathon XXII Anthology, Smith and Kraus, 2020. Andrea recently attended the Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive 2021.
