Chicago's Windy City Theatre Closes and Goes Up For Sale
The Windy City Playhouse has closed and gone up for sale. Artistic Director Amy Rubenstein told the Tribune that she felt that “the Chicago theater community seems to want something we are not able to provide and that other leaders can do better.”

Windy City Playhouse Artistic Director Amy Rubenstein, together with Goodman Theatre and Greg Schaffert, announced the theater invites guests to attend the October 20, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 evening performances of the smash immersive hit “Southern Gothic” in 1960s-inspired costume to celebrate Halloween and take the immersive theatrical experience to a whole new level.

Thus begins an intimate journey through the world of THE RECOMMENDATION, written by Jonathan Caren and directed by Jonathan Wilson. For its Chicago premiere, Windy City Playhouse artistic director Amy Rubenstein has overseen a revised script and a new concept that stages Caren's play in the theater's signature immersive style.
