BIO
Alyssa began dancing at just 2 years old. She began entering, and winning, competitions at 6 years old. She was the British Columbia Provincial Representative for either Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, or Jazz every year, winning multiple world championships, until she began her professional performing career at the age of 11 as Baby Louise in the Equity production of Gypsy at Royal City in Vancouver. The following year, she left home to live at the National Ballet School in Toronto and train with the National Ballet Company of Canada as well as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She was then chosen to be a part of the ballet program at Banff Centre for the Arts.
After completing high school, and countless musical theatre and ballet productions, Alyssa moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Following her education at AMDA, she moved to Tokyo to be the Lead Aerialist at Tokyo Disney. She then returned to go on a two-year tour throughout the US and Canada with the Broadway National Tour of Beauty and the Beast as the Dance Captain and Swing, covering 16 tracks. This is also when she began using her knowledge and experience to teach dance. She worked with Broadway Connection to teach workshops and classes as the tour traveled throughout the US. She also gave private lessons to the children in the cast.
After Beauty and the Beast, Alyssa moved to Las Vegas and began teaching at studios in the area, quickly becoming a student, and parent, favorite. After performing a principal role in Idaho! The Comedy Musical, a brand new show produced at The Smith Center, she hit the road once again as Lisa Houseman in the Broadway National tour of Dirty Dancing.
