The groundbreaking opera X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X will receive its West Coast premiere at Seattle Opera February 24–March 9.
Princeton Symphony Orchestra to Continue Chamber Series with 'Soprello', 4/12

Sunday, April 12, at 4:30 pm -- The Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series presents Soprello, a duo of soprano Allison Pohl and cellist Alistair MacRae at the Institute for Advanced Study. The concert features music written for or inventively repurposed for the soprano voice and the cello with original arrangements of songs by Henry Purcell, Robert Schumann, and Gilbert and Sullivan, plus new music by Steven Gerber, David Dzubay, and Rick Sowash. Composer John Tavener's complete Akhmatova Songs will also be performed.

Despite the German title, it is the story of Hansel and Gretel you know and love. There is a witch, and candy house, and a clever, resourceful brother and sister duo.

In London anew indoor Jacobean theatre within the complex of Shakespeare's Globe opens. And here in New York the Richmond County Orchestra (RCO) marks its 15th season by celebrating the anniversary with a Happy Birthday Bill performance today, April 26 at The Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.
