BIO

A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Allen Fawcett starred on Broadway with Laurie Beechman as ‘Joseph’ in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' at the former Royale Theatre (now, Bernard Jacobs) in 1981. He is a veteran of three Broadway musicals, including Richard Rogers, 'Rex' and Ron Field's 'King of Hearts'. Although uncredited, Allen played the 'Corporal' in 'Shenandoah' on Broadway with John Cullum, Phil Rose, Producer.
As a playwright, Allen’s musical, 'Madam of the Atom', was one of eight finalists at the New York Musical Festival in 2020. 'Ona Judge: A Spiritual Awakening' is Allen’s most recent musical. Both musicals are in collaboration with Delaware State University (HBCU) Professor, Dr. David Tolley.

In 1986, Allen co-authored 'Kid Biz: How To Help Your Child Succeed in Show Business', a mass trade paperback published by Warner Books. Actors’ Equity Association dubbed 'Kid Biz', “The most responsible book ever written on the subject.” His co-author is legendary New York talent agent, Nancy Carson (Carson-Adler Agency).
In Hollywood, Allen starred on Dick Clark’s popular TV lip-sync competition/game show, 'Puttin’ On the Hits'. He authored and hosted all 134 half-hour episodes. 'Puttin’ On the Hits' was MCA/Universal TV’s first, first-run syndicated hit. It aired weekly, nationwide, for five years on the Tribune Network.
Behind the camera, he provided creative services for Steven Spielberg at Universal Studios as his comedy consultant and dialogue coach for 'Harry and the Hendersons, a sit-com produced by Lin Oliver for Amblin TV.
Allen is a graduate of The American University and instructed there while studying for his master’s degree in American History. He has taught high school English and drama in Virginia, New Jersey, and Long Island. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild and has received commercial producer training from New York based Commercial Theatre Institute. Allen is an FAA licensed pilot, a WINGS Safety Coordinator, and serves as Chaplain for his flying club. He is currently a woodwind soloist at Holy Trinity Church in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
