BIO

Alkaio (Al-KAY-oh) Thiele is a 13 year old actor, singer, voiceover artist, and beatboxer born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. It wasn't until he performed in his first main stage production of High School Musical with ICDT! Performing Arts Center at age 12 that he fell in love with acting. Immediately following his final bows, he made an enthusiastic decision to pave a professional path for himself in the industry and has not looked back since.
Alkaio is known as the voice of Janner Igiby in the animated series "The Wingfeather Saga," an adaptation of author Andrew Peterson's fantasy-adventure book series. He voices alongside Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid), Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean), and Henry Ian Cusick (Lost). The show's popularity has afforded it a second season which will premiere in early 2024. Alkaio's first introduction to voiceover work was with "Adventures in Odyssey," one of the longest-running radio drama and comedy programs still in production, where he fell in love with the work due to the collegiality and humor he shared with fellow cast members. Alkaio is presently being kept busy by his regular work as lead roles in Disney and Cartoon Network animated series, both of which are scheduled to be released in 2024.
Alkaio's TV debut was co-starring as Max Jr. alongside Mayim Bialik (Big Bang Theory) and Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story), on FOX's "Call Me Kat." His experience on set not only reaffirmed his love for comedy, but also the kindness and closeness one can find within a Hollywood set family. Alkaio's feature film debut was in Max's "A Christmas Mystery" starring Violet McGraw (M3GAN), Oscar Nunez (The Office), and Beau Bridges, where he had the opportunity to shoot locally in Northern California. Within the same summer he was able to join the cast of Andrew Shea's "I'll Be There," a film which will premiere at the Austin Film Festival in October 2023.
Alkaio's most notable theatre credit was his role of Michael Hobbs in Ogunquit Playhouse's regional performance of "Elf The Musical." He shared the stage with Steven Booth (Broadway's Tina: The Tina Turner Musical) and award-winning actress Diana Huey (Nat'l Tour: Disney's Little Mermaid), under director and choreographer Connor Ghallagher (Broadway's Beetlejuice). He additionally received rave reviews for his performance as The Artful Dodger in 5-Star Theatricals' Oliver!
When not immersed in professional projects, Alkaio loves to sing, beatbox, bike, hike, climb, travel, play team sports, go to extreme lengths to make people laugh, adventure with his family, participate in fellowship at his Greek Orthodox Church, and perform in local musical theatre productions.

Review: OLIVER! at Bank Of America Performing Arts Center

What did our critic think of OLIVER! at Bank Of America Performing Arts Center? As the earliest Broadway musical ever to feature children playing major roles, Oliver! usually bristles with youthful excitement. But despite being marketed as a family-oriented musical, Oliver! is really inappropriate for younger audiences, and it was uncomfortable listening to parents trying to explain to their small children at intermission why that nice girl Nancy loves the bully Sikes and how being successful in picking people's pockets is a positive career move.
