The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director), presents acclaimed jazz vocalist Stevie Holland in the Off-Broadway premiere of the tour-de-force musical Love, Linda: The Life of Mrs. Cole Porter. Love, Linda has book by Ms. Holland with Gary William Friedman, music & lyrics by Cole Porter, and arrangements & additional music by Mr. Friedman. Tony Award-winner Richard Maltby, Jr. is the Director.

As previously announced, the York Theatre Company will present the New York premiere of two musicals: a 'New2NY' concert presentation of Jack: A Musical Drama on the Life of John F. Kennedy, and a Developmental Lab presentation of Buddy's Tavern, with book by Raymond De Felitta, music by Kim Oler, and lyrics by Alison Hubbard at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Filmmaker Raymond De Felitta penned the book to 'Buddy's Tavern,' a musical with songs by composer Kim Oler and lyricist Alison Hubbard, based on his 2000 film 'Two Family House.' Now, the show is gaining momentum, winning a development slot at the summer's National Music Theater Conference at the O'Neill Theater Center. Shows including AVENUE Q and IN THE HEIGHTS have previously performed at the center.

A multitude of the most curious chapters from 500+ years of animal trials will take center stage in late November at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College with excerpts from 'The Tragical-Comical Trial Trial of Madame P and Other 4-Legged and Winged Creatures,' a multi-media phantasmagoria-in-progress by award-winning playwright Susan Yankowitz. The play is widely interdisciplinary, engaging themes of animal rights and law, criminal justice, philosophy and ethics. The concluding event of John Jay's annual Art of Justice Series, it will be presented on Monday and Tuesday, November 29 and 30 at 7:00pm. The Gerald W. Lynch Theater is located at John Jay College, 899 Tenth Avenue, NYC. BWW Spotlight: Village Originals 10th Annual Festival of New Musicals

Village Theater presented their "Village Originals 10th Annual Festival of New Musicals" over the weekend presenting 6 new musicals from up and coming writers and composers. Fostering the advancement of new works, the festival boasts the early stages of shows that have gone on for full mainstage runs ("The Gypsy King", "Chasing Nicolette", "Stunt Girl", "Iron Curtain") as well as a few which have recently gone on to Broadway runs ("Million Dollar Quartet" and the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning "Next to Normal"). So getting in at these early stages is a real treat and you never know what future hit smash you might see.
