Defying and overcoming prejudice, in a story based on the lives of the composer’s real-life ancestors, the musical tells the story of Winifred Holman and her daughters using the magic and natural resources of the earth to heal and bless their community in 16th century Salem, Massachusetts. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2pm Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces Meet the Coaches 2014 (plus Audition Info Session), a unique opportunity for actors to personally meet a top-notch lineup of monologue and music coaches to help them shine at auditions. The event is presented as part of the 2014 TRU Audition Event on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2pm at Ripley Grier Studios, 520 Eighth Avenue, 10th Floor, NYC. Registration begins at 1:45pm, followed by an information and TRU Audition Q&A at 2:15pm. The Meet the Coaches presentations begin at 3:00pm, followed by a catered wine reception and one-on-one meetings with the coaches until 5:00pm. Reservations are required and can be made online through a link at http://truonline.org/CoachesAE14.htm, or by emailing trustaff1@gmail.com. Admission is $15 to the public and free for TRU members and actors who are registered for the TRU Audition.

The writing team of the new musical Freedom's Song have released their first single onto iTunes this week. The writers Caleb Collins and Alison Holman have started crowd funding efforts to continue production of the musical, which recently had a sold-out and extended engagement at 'The West End' (formerly The Underground) in concert reading format.

As previously reported, the highly buzzed about musical Ghostlight, by popular up-and-comers Matthew Martin and Tim Realbuto, presented an industry reading on Monday, January 13th at Theater Three on West 43rd Street, following two highly-attended backer's auditions on December 2nd at The New 42nd Street Studios. Kevin Lambert (Broadway's Godspell) presented the January 13th reading, which was directed by Realbuto and Martin and featured a starstudded 18 person cast, including Drama League nominee and Great Comet star Phillipa Soo, three time Tony nominee Carolee Carmello, Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli, Jennifer Hope Wills, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, Trevor McQueen, and Abigail Ludrof. Alison Holman (Freedom's Song) provided the musical direction.
