Haven will start off 2023 programming with its annual Director's Haven, now in its sixth year. Featuring three emerging directors, Director's Haven 6 gives directors in the earliest stages of their professional careers a rare opportunity to take risks, hone their crafts and talents and share their vision through a fully staged production of a short play.
ONE WOMAN, UNDER BROW is Coming to The Peoples Improv Theater
Award-Winning Storyteller and Comedienne, Anoush Froundjian will perform her solo show ONE WOMAN, UNDER BROW at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) on January 9th at 7PM. Directed by Julia Whitehouse, ONE WOMAN, UNDER BROW features candid stories about Anoush's Armenian family; her Armenian day school; and her pursuit to redefine 'Home.' This hour-long performance piece is told through a web of sometimes comedic and sometimes sharp and poignant storytelling. The piece addresses the cultural differences between Anoush's background and that of day-to-day, society, revealing how it has both torn down and reshaped the life of a child and now (semi) adjusted adult.

After an oversold night at Dixon Place this August, Dana Aber will perform two evenings of her autobiographical soloshow Baggage at the Door at the PIT Loft: Sunday October 14 at 8pm and Monday October 29 at 9:30pm. Hailed as 'deeply moving' with 'infectious original songs,' Baggage at the Door is a 'disarmingly charming' look at healing from trauma. Incorporating video games, humor, and video projections, this quirky and candid piece explores her attempts to break the PTSD trauma cycle and find courage to unpack her baggage and claim a better life.

Comically inclined choreographer Jamie Benson joins forces with Peoples Improv Theater (PIT) to present Gay Stuff on May 15, 2018, from 10-11pm ($8 tickets). Benson, and his outsider comedic team, are debuting 3 sketches, 2 stand-up sets, and some sassy/stupid walks for the PIT's Striker main stage. Gay Stuff will dissect internalized homophobia, oppressive bro prerogative, and marginalizing gay cliches, but like, with dick jokes.

Award-Winning MO-TO-THE-ONCLE One-Woman Show Returns To NYC
Mo-to-the-oncle, a nationally acclaimed solo comedy, returns home to New York City to play a limited engagement at The Peoples Improv Theater Underground (123 East 24th St, New York, NY 10010) on April 29 at 9:30 p.m. and May 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 at thepit-nyc.com, where more information is also available. PIT's Atlas Circus Returns to NYC
The PIT (The Peoples Improv Theater) partners with the Atlas Circus Company to bring circus arts into their theater. They will present a redeveloped version of, Atlas Circus Company's, The Optimist?. A unique and topical narrative told through high-flying acrobatic feats, dancing, and magic, the production of The Optimist? will play February 20th through March 31st - at The PIT (123 E 24th St).
