Alex Tirrell is a Rhode Island-based music director, pianist, vocalist, and keyboard programmer (Kurzweil & Apple MainStage) with a rich history of over 20 years in the Southern New England area.
Having earned his BA in Music with a concentration in Voice & Piano from Rhode Island College in 2011, Alex currently holds the position of Resident Music Director at the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre and Conservatory in Woonsocket, RI. Additionally, he contributes his programming expertise to Stage Sounds, LLC as a valued staff programmer.
In 2022, Alex was honored with the 'Best Music Direction & Orchestra Performance' award at the BroadwayWorld Rhode Island Awards for his work on 'Into the Woods' at the Stadium Theatre. His prior accolades include the 'Best Musical Direction (Overall)' award for [title of show] with Academy Players, as recognized by Motif Magazine in August 2015.
Beyond the realm of theater, Alex showcases his versatility as the keyboardist and vocalist for the alt-pop/rock band Shryne. In his leisure time, he indulges in interests spanning local history, retro computers, gaming, and technology.
