Lawrence Cherney, Founding Artistic Director, Soundstreams, today announced details about the company's inaugural onstage production since March 2020 'A Love Song To Toronto'. Presented on the eve of an historic Soundstreams tour taking Canadian music to Germany and the U.K., 'A Love Song to Toronto' is a celebration of renowned Canadian composer Claude Vivier's works. This in-person event will be performed live at St. Andrew's Church, Toronto on April 28th, 2022.

In collaboration with Aga Khan Museum and Nuit Blanche, Arts Etobicoke, Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Toronto, and Toronto Plaza Hotel, and in keeping with the season theme of a?oeOld meets New,a?? At Birdland every Monday night at 9:30pm, Jim Caruso's Cast Party celebrates talent from every corner of the entertainment scene. Broadway, jazz, cabaret, pop, folk, country…over the past twelve years, the Cast Party crowds have been entertained by most every genre of music! This past week, the talent was off-the-charts. Rachel Tucker, the recent star of The Last Ship on Broadway, gained a slew of new fans with two Kander & Ebb anthems that had the crowd standing, stomping and cheering for more!

Without a doubt, Soulpepper Theatre Company's Global Cabaret Festival is my favorite Toronto arts festival. It's like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get. Forrest Gump would dig it. Each year I'm tempted to bring my sleeping bag and just camp out for the weekend.
