BIO

Alex Rumbolz is a Los Angeles-based musical theater performer and singer/songwriter most commonly known for his work with New Voices (Seattle), Carner & Gregor's Barely Legal Showtune Extravaganza (NYC) and The Music Room (LA). He has also received a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre for the role of "Troy Bolton" in Disney's High School Musical.

In 2011, he appeared as "Robert" in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! at the Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham, Washington. His resume also includes, "Joseph" in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and "Danny Zuko" in Grease.

BWW Reviews: NEW VOICES 11 from Contemporary Classics

Last night the incredible talent from Contemporary Classics stepped up to the mic once more for the 11th installment of their wildly popular "New Voices" series, spotlighting new works from composers around the country. Some local composers and some abroad, some new-ish pieces and some brand spankin' new for this show, Host Brandon Ivie and Music director R.J. Tancioco gathered together some of the most obscenely talented performers in the area to blow the doors off ACT Theatre and there was not a door standing when they were done.

Songwriting duo Sam Carner and Derek Gregor-the team behind the award-winning NYMF hit Unlock'd-will showcase their songs on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 8pm in a concert titled Carner & Gregor's Barely Legal Showtune Extravaganza. Hosted by Hair's Andrew Kober and Avenue Q's Sarah Stiles, the event will bring together nine of the most-talented musical theatre students currently studying at schools across the U.S. The concert will take place at the new East Village venue DROM (85 Avenue A between 5th & 6th Streets).
