Alex wrote and directed Media Killed the Video Star, which premiered at NY Comedy Club and transferred to Dillon's Reprise Room for a few seasons. His second creation 'Ultimate Drag Off' ran for 5 seasons in various NYC off broadway houses. Alex has directed and produced various regional, community, off and off-off Broadway projects. Alex coaches and teaches adults and teens in various schools in the NY/NJ area and is the Artistic Director for HT Musical Theater, a young adult theater group. There he has achieved over 15 awards and 25 nominations with Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for his work. Alex re-mounted the award-winning OZ! A Twisted Musical as director/choreographer for an off-Broadway run at Producer's Club II.
His Directorial credits have been seen in stages across the world including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland),Oberhavel Arts Festival (Germany), El Teatro Presidente (El Salvador), Canada, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Maine and Chaminade University in Hawaii. His productions have earned NJ ACT Perry Awards, RSA's, Cappie Awards, and recognition in Stage Directions, Playbill, New York Times, Star Ledger and Broadway World publications.
Performing credits include: De La Guarda – Off Broadway NYC (Daryl Roth Theater), Rus & Lost Arroyos (HERE Arts Center), signed to Gossip Records, scoring a hit dance record in Canada and performing in NYC theaters such as Players Club, Knitting Factory, Producers Club, NY Comedy Club and The Village Gate.
Alex is currently a Resident Director/Choreographer at Stagedoor Manor, NY, and recent Director for Argus Eyes Theater Society at St. Peter's University, Artistic Director and Founder of HT Musical Theater in NJ and Acting Coach at Ohana Arts Festival (Honolulu, HI).
Alex is also member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Actors' Equity Association & SAG-AFTRA. He enjoys other creative passions including freelance photography, songwriting and writing for the stage. His recent play "Julian and Romero" has been performed at Theater For The New City and featured in festivals.
