BIO

ALEX NAVARRO has recently returned to his native city of Houston after 20 years in Los Angeles and New York City where he was widely known as music director for Engelbert Humperdinck. Navarro currently serves as resident music supervisor for Theatre Under The Stars and pianist for the Houston Ballet Academy. Notable recording and performance credits include artists Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, Carly Simon, Art Garfunkel, Natasha Bedingfield, Rita Wilson, Doc Powell, Taylor Dayne, the Prague Philharmonic, the BBC Radio Orchestra, the Newark Symphony, the Omaha Symphony, Waitress the Musical - Broadway, 42nd Street The Musical – National Tour, and producers Phil Ramone, Clive Davis and Richard Perry. Navarro has recorded on two Grammy Nominated albums and two RIAA certified gold records along with appearances on The Today Show, The Tonight Show, The Late, Late Show, Regis and Kelly, The Ellen Show, The American Music Awards, The Martha Stewart Show and A&E Private Sessions. Navarro received a Bachelor of Music from The University of North Texas and a Master of Music from New York University.

Theatre Under The Stars Will Bring THE MUSIC MAN to the Miller Outdoor Theatre in July

After the smashing success of the inaugural TUTS Public Works Houston production of Seussical last year, Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has announced this summer's production, The Music Man. Performances run July 14 through 19 at Miller Outdoor Theatre and are free to the public. This will mark the 52nd year that TUTS has provided free musicals for Houstonians at Miller. The renowned non-profit theatre company also produces a six-show season of musical theatre classics and contemporary hits at the Hobby Center.

The actress/producer/singer Rita Wilson makes her Cafe Carlyle debut in a two-week engagement, September 24 - October 4. She and a band including musical director Andrew Doolittle (guitar, background vocals), Alex Navarro (piano, keyboards, background vocals), Lee Nadel (bass) and Rich Mercurio (drums) will perform songs from Wilson's forthcoming second album with original material due out in early 2015, as well as selections from her collection of classics, AM/FM.

Redmoon's Winter Pageant takes place at the company's Pilsen home at 2120 S.
