One of the most anticipated plays being produced in St. Louis this season is Matthew Lopez’s epic masterpiece THE INHERITANCE. Produced by Tesseract Theatre Company, THE INHERITANCE is a two-part play spanning three generations of gay men and the effect their relationships have on one another. Inspired by the novel “Howard’s End,” THE INHERITANCE debuted in London’s West End in March of 2018, before transferring to Broadway in November of 2019. THE INHERITANCE is the winner of countless awards including the Olivier Award for Best New Play, the Tony Award for Best Play, and was recognized as Best Play by London’s Evening Standard Theatre Award, Critic’s Circle Award, South Bank Sky Arts Award, Drama Desk Award, Drama League Award, New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and GLAAD Media Award. Broadway World had the opportunity to sit down with the Director Stephen Peirick, and three members of his acting troupe, Tyson Cole, Jonathan Hey, and Jacob Schmidt, who will bring the regional premiere of this important work to audiences in and around the St. Louis Area.
THE SCRIPT IN THE CLOSET Comes to La MaMa in March
'The Script in the Closet,' a new farce written and directed by Joyce Griffen, follows the misadventures and jealousies of a Pulitzer Prize-winning, husband-and-wife writing team who discover untitled pages of a mystery screenplay on their shared laptop. Catch the show from March 1 to 17, 2024 at La MaMa E.T.C. (Downstairs Theatre), 66 East Fourth Street.
THE LATHUMS Announce Castlefield Arena Headline Date
The Lathums have announced their biggest headline show to date, performing at the iconic, open-air Castlefield Bowl in Manchester on Fri 30 June 2023. Tickets for the landmark show go on sale at 9.30am on Fri 3 February 2023. The Wigan four-piece return to Manchester’s 8,000 capacity amphitheatre as headliners.

The UK's The Lathums Announce US Tour Dates
The UK’s The Lathums debut album, How Beautiful Life Can Be was released in late 2021 and immediately took the #1 spot on the UK charts. Undermain Theatre Presents A Juneteenth Documentary Festival Focusing On African American Artists
Undermain Theatre will be rescheduling the planned coproduction of Lonesome Blues to its upcoming 38th season. This decision was made in an effort to ensure that the production can be performed live and enjoyed by audiences as the live event it was created to be. We look forward to live audiences watching and enjoying the music of Blind Lemon Jefferson in the o historic Deep Ellum performance space. The rescheduled production dates will be announced soon.
