Vermont Symphony Orchestra Appoints Robert De Cormier as Conductor Emeritus
BURLINGTON, VT – Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO), Vermont's only statewide symphony orchestra, announced this week during a choral concert in Burlington, Vermont that Robert De Cormier has been honored as Conductor Emeritus, Vermont Symphony Orchestra Chorus. De Cormier held the position of choral conductor for twenty years having retired in 2014.
The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Holds Food Drive to Feed Those in Need in Vermont
Over 350,000 pounds of food has been collected in the past four years through Orchestras Feeding America food drives! The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is once again combining efforts with The American League of Orchestras campaign to help those in need within our local community, as well as spreading the word that orchestras are essential beyond providing wonderful music.
Vermont Symphony Orchestra Honors Volunteers and Donors at Annual Meeting
Two members of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Governing Board of Directors retired following completion of the maximum number of years permitted and were recognized for their service at the recent VSO Association Annual Meeting held at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. Brian Harwood of Waterbury and Richard Schneider of Northfield were honored for twelve years of outstanding service each. Harwood stepped down as Chair for the 2011-2013 seasons.
