BIO

Alan Eichler has worked professionally since the mid 1960's as a press agent, producer and talent manager. He was associate producer of the musical "Timbuktu!" starring Eartha Kitt, Melba Moore and Gilbert Price and co-producer of off-Broadway's "Women Behind Bars" by Tom Eyen and all three productions of Geraldine Fitzgerald's one-woman show "Streetsongs," as well as the PBS TV version. He has served as press agent for such Broadway shows as "The Lieutenant" (Tony nominee for "Best Musical"), "Hair," "Fire!", "The Mother Lover," "The Dozens," "Gilbert Becaud Sings Love," "Bent," and "Zelda" and off-Broadway's "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds" (Pulitzer Prize), "Your Own Thing," Elaine May's "Adaptation," Harold Pinter's "Tea Party" and "The Basement," Tom Stoppard's "The Real Inspector Hound," Arrabal's "And They Put Handcuffs on the Flowers," Terrence McNally's "Next," "Bad Habits," "Whiskey" and "Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone?",
numerous Tom Eyen shows including "Women Behind Bars," "The Neon Woman," "The Dirtiest Show in Town" and "The White Whore and the Bit Player," Miriam Colon's Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, and
several Charles Ludlam productions including "Camille," "Bluebeard," "Stage Blood," "Hot Ice," "Caprice," "The Ventriloquist's Wife," "The Elephant Girl" and "Der Ring Gott Ferblondgett." He has also produced several Grammy-nominated record albums and managed and/or promoted such legendary singers as Anita O'Day, Ruth Brown, La Vern Baker, Johnnie Ray, Patti Page, Yma Sumac, Maxine Sullivan, Ella Mae Morse, Hadda Brooks and Nellie Lutcher.

Chita Rivera's Final Screen Appearance to Stream in October

“Studio One Forever,” Marc Saltarelli’s award-winning documentary about the iconic gay disco in West Hollywood, including the Backlot cabaret room, will start streaming on all platforms beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8, same day as the Blu-ray release.
Academy Award- Nominated Actor Sally Kellerman Dead At 84

Actress-singer Sally Kellerman, who achieved worldwide movie fame for her role as Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan in Robert Altman's classic 1970 film “M*A*S*H,” with Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould, died early this morning (Feb. 24) in her sleep from heart failure at her home in Woodland Hills.  She was 84.  For her iconic role, she was nominated as “Best Supporting Actress” by both the Oscars and Golden Globes.  It was reported by her manager and publicist Alan Eichler.
Boulet Brothers To Host WOMEN BEHIND BARS

The Boulet Brothers, whose a?oeDragulaa?? TV series is now in its third season on Netflix and OUTtv.ca, will be special guest hosts at the Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 PM performance of Tom Eyen's a?oeWomen Behind Barsa?? at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood. Known individually as Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet, they are internationally-known nightlife producers and hosts who developed the a?oeDragulaa?? TV series based loosely on their long-running club event of the same name, which ran monthly in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with special events in New York and Austin, Texas.
Kathy Griffin To Introduce WOMEN BEHIND BARS

a?oeWomen Behind Bars,a?? the classic Tom Eyen comedy hit, will feature a live special introduction by Kathy Griffin at the Jan. 26 Sunday matinee performance, 3 PM at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood.   
Ginger Minj Joins Cast Of WOMEN BEHIND BARS

Ginger Minj, a fan-favorite on a?oeRuPaul's Drag Racea?? and a?oeRuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars,a?? has joined the cast of the Los Angeles revival of Tom Eyen's cult prison comedy a?oeWomen Behind Bars,a?? playing the role of Ada.  The Equity production will run for eight performances only for two consecutive weekends, Jan. 24-Feb. 2, at the 900-seat Montalban Theatre in Hollywood (formerly the Doolittle), directed by Scott Thompson.  Minj replaces the previously-announced Thorgy Thor, who has withdrawn due to a conflict.  
DOROTHY LOUDON AT THE BLUE ANGEL AND OTHER RARITIES Gets Release Date

The release launches Stage Door's COLLECTOR'S SERIES, a line of limited edition CD products that celebrate Broadway shows and vocalists of the 1950s and 60s.
