BIO

Arizona native Aidy Bryant moved to Chicago after high school to enroll in college and Comedy Studies, a program that allows students to study full-time at The Second City for an entire semester.

After graduating in 2009, Bryant performed across Chicago, including in the musical improv group Baby Wants Candy. She performed on board Norweigian Cruise Line with Second City Theatricals and toured nationally with The Second City Touring Company.
Bryant co-wrote and performed in two revues on the e.t.c. Stage, Sky’s the Limit, Weather Permitting and We’re All In This Room Together. For Sky’s the Limit, the entire ensemble won the Jeff Award for New Work: Musical or Revue in 2011.
In 2012, Bryant joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for their 38th season, along with Second City Touring Company alum Cecily Strong. At age 25, Bryant was one of their youngest hires ever. With immense talent in both character work and impressions, Bryant has made her mark on the show. Her most memorable characters include “Tonkerbell,” Tinkerbell’s half-sister; “Morgan,” the co-host of “Girlfriends Talk Show,” and “Worst Woman in the Airport.” She has also done spot-on impressions of Adele, Candy Crowley, Rebel Wilson, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. For her work on the show, she has received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including two nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Sereis. Bryant left the show at the end of its 47th season in 2022.
From 2019 through 2021, she served as writer and executive producer and starred in the television sitcom Shrill, for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Other film and television credits include Human Resources, Comedy Bang Bang, Broad City, Documentary Now!, Girls, Horace and Pete, Danger & Eggs, The Big Sick, I Feel Pretty, and more.
