Interview: Neomi Gonzales Leaps from Stage to Screen
In the film 'Isang Himala,' directed by Pepe Diokno, actress Neomi Gonzales plays Chayong, the closest friend to faith healer Elsa. Portraying Chayong isn’t Gonzales' first time, though. She played the same role in a new 'Himala: Isang Musikal' production by The Sandbox Collective and 9 Works Theatrical in 2018.

HIMALA is Back on the Big Screen (With Singing!)
The 1982 film 'Himala,' directed by National Artist Ismael Bernal, follows the story of a barrio Cupang lass, Elsa, played by a young Nora Aunor, who allegedly saw an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 'Himala,' retitled 'Isang Himala,' is back on the big screen as a musical film, an official entry to the 50th-anniversary of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The all-star cast, Alice Reyes Dance Philippines’ dancers, and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, performed a reprise of the epilogue to 'Ang Larawan, The Musica'” right before the curtain fell on 'Contra Mundum, Ang All-Star Concert ng Ang Larawan' at the Manila Metropolitan Theatre on Saturday, May 6.

Back in Manila from his two-year stint as Thuy in the UK/Ireland and International tour of 'Miss Saigon,' Gerald Santos is now a certified crossover artist. In his homecoming concert last Saturday, May 4, at the Theatre at Solaire, Santos filled his repertoire with songs from musical theater and from movie musicals that have also crossed over to the pop charts.
