BIO
Adriana Jones is a performer, writer, and producer based in New York City. With her production company Apperception Productions, she has produced and performed original work for theater and film including the solo shows An Anonymous Contributor and Vivien On The Rocks, and the short film Death of a Vacuum. Her original work has been shown at Theater Row, Live from Gramercy Park at The Players Club, All for One Festival’s Salon, Stage Left Studio, the Edmonton Fringe Festival, Katra Film Series, and Indieworks Film Series. Death of a Vacuum is the recipient of two Audience Choice Awards.
As a performer, Adriana started in musical theater but now embraces a career that includes new plays, Shakespeare, film, and TV. She loves to play characters who are extremely earnest, whip-smart, and have a deadpan comedic sensibility. She is a Friend of Flux with Flux Theater Ensemble, collaborates frequently on new plays with The Bechdel Group, and collaborates most frequently on film projects with Simone Kisiel of Magic Dog Productions. Other recent collaborations include a short film with Rook Productions and an upcoming TV spot with Red Marble Media.
As a writer, Adriana began with one-person shows, but has quickly come to embrace dialogue and now writes primarily female-centered comedic content for film. She studied sketch writing at UCB and TV writing at Primary Stages, cut her teeth writing sketch comedy for YouTube channels, and now has Death of a Vaccum on the festival circuit, and another comedic screenplay in development.
Adriana holds a BFA in Theater from Cornish College of the Arts and is an alumna of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s Apprentice program, LAByrinth Theater’s Intensive Ensemble, and the Southampton Playwriting Conference.
