Addison Reid Coe was born and raised in Rochester MI. His love for theater and film was cultivated throughout the years by his mother who has love and endless knowledge of golden age musicals/film. Addison didn’t start to actively pursue singing/acting until his senior year when he didn’t make the varsity soccer team. He joined choir, where his high school teacher saw the potential in him and opened this new world to him. With the encouragement of this teacher, Reid competed as a soloist at state level and won high awards. That is when he knew he wanted to be on stage and screen.
He attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, where he studied vocal performance for three years then changed his major to business communications and finished his degree in the fall of 2011. While Addison was in Grand Rapids, he pursued theater and film on the side both in the community and on a professional level. This is when he accrued his foundation of skills that has now landed him the lead role of Tony in the 2012 National Tour of West Side Story! Some of his favorite theater credits include Danny in ;Grease, Capt’ Walker in Tommy, Prince Christopher in Cinderella, Joseph in Joseph And….Dreamcoat, and Melchior in Spring Awakening.
His time in Grand Rapids landed him some wonderful film work as well. His most recent film job was working on the webseries called Perks (which can be found at www.perksshow.com). Other work was The Good Prince in Backstage Drama, the lead in a Bissell commercial titled Yowza, and extra work in an Alltel commercial.
Addison just finished playing Warner in Legally Blonde at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. He is now playing Tony in the North American Tour of West Side Story!
