NYTW to Host One Night Reading of UNNATURAL ACTS January 27
New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) will host a one-night-only staged reading of the hit off-Broadway play, UNNATURAL ACTS, to benefit The Trevor Project on Monday, January 27, 2014. The special event will be held at 7pm at NYTW (79 East Fourth Street, between Bowery & Second Avenue) and will feature the entire original off-Broadway cast. A brief panel discussion to follow.
Japan Society Presents Play Reading STROLLING INVADER
Japan Society proudly presents a staged reading of Strolling Invader by Japanese playwright Tomohiro Maekawa, directed by New York-based theater artist Aya Ogawa. As part of Japan Society's Performing Arts Season spanning Fall 2012 through Spring 2013, Strolling Invader is a presentation of the Society's ongoing Play Reading Series of contemporary Japanese plays in English translation.
Food-Themed 'Milk n Honey' Dines at 3LD Center, Begins 10/21
LightBox and The Food Theater Project present the world premiere of Milk 'n' Honey - a new play about food and why we eat what we eat - with previews to begin October 21, prior to its official press opening October 28 at 3LD Art and Technology Center (80 Greenwich Street at Rector Street) in Lower Manhattan. Ellen Beckerman directs the play, which was collaboratively written by Madeleine George, Bray Poor, C. Andrew Bauer, Shawn Fagan, and Ms. Beckerman, based on their interviews with a wide range of people about food and their relationship to it.
