Long Beach Symphony Opens 90th Season In October
Long Beach Symphony announced its 90th season opening on October 5, 2024, featuring Beethoven's Egmont Overture, the West Coast premiere of Anne Clyne’s work, and Dvořák's New World Symphony.
Adrienne Danrich's MUSIC AS THE MESSAGE to Present Community Concert Today
Music as the Message: It Takes a Village!, a hybrid concert experience featuring virtual and in-person performances of new and familiar songs, returns for its third season on Sunday, November 20th at 4 PM Eastern. The program is created and hosted by Emmy Award-winning soprano Adrienne Danrich (Broadway's Intimate Apparel) and highlights the work of local and national charities and the importance of community action.

Set in turn of the century New York, Intimate Apparel tells the story of Esther (Kearstin Piper Brown), a lonely, single African American woman who makes her living sewing corsets and ladies’ undergarments. Featuring a libretto by Lynn Nottage, based on her play, and music by Ricky Ian Gordon, the opera is directed by Bartlett Sher.
