Young People's Chorus Of New York City Launches YPC National, Inc.
Francisco J. Nuñez, Founder and Artistic Director of the award-winning Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), announced at last night's YPC Gala the launch of YPC National, Inc. (YPCN), an independent non-profit organization founded to facilitate the creation and development of YPC-inspired youth choruses nationwide. YPC National helps to develop choruses that, like YPC, bring together children of diverse backgrounds through performance at the highest level, as well as through community and educational initiatives, which together aim to fulfill the potential of every child-musically, academically, and socially.

On Monday evening, March 5, at 7 p.m. with every seat in Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater occupied, more than 425 singers in the Young People's Chorus of New York City opened the celebration of their storied 30-year history by singing 'Why We Tell the Story' written by Broadway's powerhouse songwriting team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, among the evening's special guests, who also helped host. Under the leadership of YPC Artistic Director Francisco J. Nuñez and Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nuñez, YPC was also joined by renowned baritone Lester Lynch as well as Broadway's Jenn Colella from 'Come From Away' and Jordan Donica, soon to be featured in 'My Fair Lady.'

The Young People's Chorus of NYC had its most successful gala to date on Monday, March 6th, 2017. The chorus members, ranging in ages from 8 to 18, were joined by Hamilton's Mandy Gonzalez, Spring Awakening's Alexandra Socha, and the extraordinary Time for Three ensemble, in one vibrant production number after the next.

Young People's Chorus of NYC to Launch Summer Tour of Asia on 7/12
The National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award-winning Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), led by its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Nuñez and accompanied by pianist Jon Holden, will leave for a month-long summer tour of Asia on July 12, its fifth trip to the Asian continent. They will give costumed and choreographed performances in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and five Japanese cities, including Tokyo, where YPC makes its Tokyo Philharmonic debut. In several Japanese cities YPC will sing the first performances in Japan of Samuragochi Mamoru's HIROSHIMA REQUIEM since the work's premiere in Hiroshima in 2007.

At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Young People's Chorus of New York City on June 18, Adam Chinn, a founding partner of Centerview Partners LLC, an investment advisory firm, was named the Chairman of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), effective July 1, 2012.
