The Public Theater Begins Performances For New York Premiere Of MOJADA
The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will begin performances for the New York premiere of MOJADA on Tuesday, July 2 with a Joseph Papp Free Preview in The Public's LuEsther Hall. Written by MacArthur Genius Award-winning playwright Luis Alfaro and directed by Obie Award-winning directorChay Yew, MOJADA is a bold new telling of a story as old as tragedy itself. MOJADA will run through Sunday, August 11, with an official press opening on Wednesday, July 17.

MAYANS M.C. Renewed for Second Season on FX
Mayans M.C., the hit biker drama created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, has been renewed for a second season on FX, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. The second season will premiere on FX in 2019.

Disney Theatrical Group Honors Kabuta Whitney
Co-hosts Thomas Schumacher, Producer and President of Disney Theatrical Group and Teri Schwartz, Dean of UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) were on hand last night, April 7 to honor Elizabeth Kubota Whitney at New York's historic New Amsterdam Theater.
The private reception was to acknowledged Whitney's generous $750,000 gift to The Jeanne Michiko Kubota Scholarship for UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television. The scholarship is named in honor of Whitney's sister. Whitney started this scholarship to make a significant difference in a student's life, especially those suffering financially and having to put their dreams on hold. The endowment will fund the school's first four-year, full-ride scholarship for a theater undergraduate student.
