Interview: Mary Callanan is Back in Boston for THE PROM
After putting that time to good use, expanding her fan base from Boston to Broadway and beyond, Callanan is back home now. And she's living it up as diva Dee Dee Allen in the SpeakEasy Stage production of 'The Prom,' playing May 5 through June 10 in the Roberts Theatre at the Calderwood Pavilion, Boston Center for the Arts.

Theatre Under The Stars 50th Anniversary Season Gala Wows Attendees And Raises A Record $1.37 Million
Welcome to Theatre Under The Stars 50th Anniversary Season Gala, an incredible and intimate celebration this past Saturday, March 23rd with Broadway star Idina Menzel and more than 600 TUTS family and friends. Many guests said it was the "best gala" they had ever attended. The gorgeous event designed by Taylor DeMartino of Blooming Gallery not only turned The Post Oak Hotel grand ballroom into a supper club "under the stars" that night, but guests experienced the magic of live musical theatre while supporting a great cause. A private meet and greet with Menzel was given to top sponsors along with gifts donated by David Peck. This historic event raised more funds than any other Gala in TUTS history - $1.37 million for "Houston's Home for Musical Theatre".

Beauty and the Beast will be directed and choreographed by Broadway choreographer, Chris Bailey, who recently choreographed Gettin' the Band Back Together.

Hicks has appeared on Broadway in Motown The Musical, Caroline or Change, and The Lion King. Yvette Clark will play the roles of 'Evilene', 'Glinda', and 'Aunt Em'. Clark has appeared in numerous regional productions including Thoroughly Modern Millie, Showboat, Chicago, and Hairspray. Simone Gundy will play the role of 'Addaperle'. Gundy returns to TUTS after starring in the 2017 production of Memphis. Paris Nix is playing 'Tin Man'. Nix was last seen on Broadway in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Allyson Kaye Daniel is 'Lion'. Daniel most recently appeared at TUTS as 'Miss Jones' in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
