Arizona Musicfest to Host Young Performers Concert at the MIM, 5/15
Each year, Arizona Musicfest attracts some of the brightest young musical talent from around the State of Arizona to its instrumental and vocal competitions. Over 100 talented young artists, grades 7 through 12, competed in this year's Musicfest Competitions, which are organized into divisions, based on grade level. The judges, which included a distinguished roster of top professional musicians and teachers from throughout the Valley, awarded up to three winners per division. Photo Flash: Stage Combat At KVPAC With Alan Hutton
Both Junior & Senior COMPANY, KVPAC's signature theatre club for advanced and experienced students, were offered the opportunity to attend a very special workshop for free at the beginning of 2009. On January 10th, Main Street Theatre Instructor, Alan Hutton, came to KVPAC to teach STAGE COMBAT. Stage combat is a specialized technique in theatre designed to create the illusion of physical combat without causing harm to the performers. It is employed in live stage plays as well as operatic and ballet productions.
