Transgressive Theatre-Opera Hosts Benefit Concert For Immigrant Relief
Transgressive Theatre-Opera will offer this benefit concert at 7:30 PM on Saturday, September 7 at the historic Ebenezer Lutheran Church's auditorium, 1650 W. Foster. Everyone involved is donating their talent so that all tickets sales and other donations can go directly to a local immigrant relief and a national immigrant relief organization. The organizations to be benefited are Ebenezer's own Refugee Support and the National Immigrant Justice Center. Special permission for this concert benefiting these specific organizations was granted by the Menotti estate.

Transgressive Theatre-Opera announces its fifth season, bringing Chicago a staged version of a little-heard Sullivan cantata, an updated gender-rollercoaster of a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, a Count Ory transported to a new locale and time, and a concert of arias and ensembles revolving around letters of love and legal documents, the second half of which is Le Nozze di Figaro's Act II in its entirety, in the original Italian.

Transgressive Theatre-Opera is excited to announce the next production of its 2017/2018 season, Mozart's sparkling masterpiece, Cosi Fan Tutte, to be performed in English on February 9 at 7:30, February 10 at 1:30 and 7:30, and February 11 at 7:00 in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Performances will take place in the auditorium space of the historic Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
CATS Leaps Into Frankfurt On August 23
CATS will perform at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany August 23 through the 27. This is one of five stops in Germany, which includes Berlin (August 9-19), Baden-Baden (August 29-September 3), Bremen (September 5-10), and Duisburg (September 12-17). CATS is based on T.S. Eliot's 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

Transgressive Theatre-Opera presents a glimpse into the funny and passionate life and art of one of the world's greatest playwrights with A CHEKHOV TRIO, made up of composer Dominick Argento's The Boor and A Few Words about Chekhov, and the Midwest premiere of Richard Wargo's The Seduction Of A Lady. The Boor is based on Chekhov's play of the same name, A Few Words about Chekhov intertwines Chekhov's love letter to his wife Olga with sections of the journal she wrote after his death, and The Seduction of a Lady takes its text from Neil Simon's play, The Good Doctor, based on Chekhov's short stories. A CHEKHOV TRIO is directed by Aaron Hunt, with music direction by Sarah Jenks and John D. Cockerill, and will play June 10, 11 and 12, 2016 at The Piccolo Theatre at 600 Main Street in Evanston.
