DAISY is an interrogation of the current political arena, which is fun to watch, even when a dubious argument is presented.

BWW Review: ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS Serves Big Laughs in Newly Renovated Alley Theatre

I was pleased to see many familiar faces last Wednesday at the Alley Theatre's performance of ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS. It helped set the tone for the comedic and interactive performance that seemed to ask us to leave any egos at the door, relax, and sit back for a night of farcical storytelling and crass side-splitting humor. The show absolutely delivered.

BWW Interviews: Director Malinda Beckham Talks Theatre Southwest's THE PHILADELPHIA STORY

THE PHILADELPHIA STORY is a timeless romantic comedy chronicling the love life of Philadelphia socialite, Tracy Lord. Tracy must choose between her debonaire ex-husband, her dapper fiancé, or a dashing reporter. I truly pity her.

BWW Reviews: WAITING FOR OTHELLO and DESDEMONA: Two Plays, Two Acts, and One Hit

The Trebuchet Players' production of DESDEMONA: A PLAY ABOUT A HANDKERCHIEF features top-notch acting and an emotional depth so luxurious you could get lost in it. Homegrown talent Bryan Maynard's silly, self-aware, but not self-serious, play WAITING FOR OTHELLO features equally talented performers and loads of humor. Both plays poke fun at ridiculous gender stereotypes while evoking laughter and tears in equal measure.

BWW Reviews: Trebuchet Players' HAMLET is Appealingly Eclectic

I can only imagine that one would be hard pressed to find someone who is not familiar with William Shakespeare's HAMLET. It is often produced in theatres and taught in many classrooms; however, this familiarity with the show doesn't make it any easier to being to life on stage. It is an ambitious undertaking, and not one that most companies would schedule as their second production. Yet, Houston's up and coming Trebuchet Players gleefully took the challenge head on and created a satisfying and eclectic production that springs to life with their unique brand of theatre magic.
