BIO

AARON COULSON can now look back and see why "yes-no" in Sign Language and "stage right-stage left" in theatre were his first directions in life. Now 33 years later he is the artistic founding director of Las Vegas Deaf Theatre. Having lived in both a hearing and Deaf culture he has grown to know the importance of entertainment and the effects it has on all walks of life. The stage is meant for everyone and providing everyone the opportunity is his and Las Vegas Deaf Theatre's ambition. His Directing/Choreography credits include shows seen nationally and internationally Including NYC, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, music videos, TV and cruise ships. Some credits include "Thoroughly Modern Milly", "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers", "West Side Story", "Smokey Joes Cafe", "Tommy" and " Into The Woods".  Aaron has been performing since he was a young tike. He has sung on 3 internationally sold albums, Performed on Broadway productions, National and International Tours, Music Videos, Television, Movies, Cruise Ships, Theme Parks and now can be seen headlining different shows on Las Vegas BLVD. Some Performance credits include; Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages, Emcee in Cabaret, Angel in Rent, Electra in Starlight Express, Matt in The Fantastics, Aladdin in Aladdin, Cousin Kevin in Tommy and Albert in Bye Bye Birdie. Aaron won the World Wide "15 minutes of fame" contest to sing with Barry Manilow and also won the Broadway World Award for Best Production "Smokey Joe's Cafe" that he directed in Las Vegas NV.

BWW Review: CABARET, Ramirez Made Sally Bowles Her Own!

This weekend I visited a little gem filled with history, tucked away within a short drive from Charlotte, the Meroney Theater in Salisbury, NC. The original home to vaudeville and now home to The Piedmont Players. This group put on a sublimely wonderful production of CABARET. The cast was lead by Emily Ramirez, who played the promiscuously innocent, Sally Bowles. I couldn't take my eyes off Ramirez. She captured the character of Bowles' sexual persona onstage with charged dancing and emotionally connected vocals.
