World Premiere of THE SCIENCE OF LEAVING OMAHA Opens at PBD Next Month

Carter W. Lewis's The Science of Leaving Omaha, a play about dashed hopes and broken dreams, resilience and resolve, receives its world premiere at Palm Beach Dramaworks on February 3 (8pm). One of the five plays featured in last season's New Year/New Plays Festival, The Science of Leaving Omaha runs through February 19, with specially priced previews on February 1 and 2 (7:30pm). The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Albertine Books are pleased to announce that Climate Change Theatre Action (CCTA), an initiative of the Arctic Cycle, which uses theatre to foster dialogue about the global climate crisis, will offer play four play readings, featuring teen actors, as part of Festival Albertine 2019. Curated by celebrated author and environmentalist Bill McKibben, the weekend-long festival focuses on climate chaos and the race to prevent civilization-scale collapse, and features lead prominent thinkers, politicians, activists, artists, and authors from across the U.S., France, and the francophone world, November 8-10. The CCTA readings take place prior to the discussions on November 9 and 10.
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis Announces New Program For Emerging Regional Playwrights

Three emerging playwrights - two from St. Louis and one from Chicago - have been selected to participate in a new initiative developed by Shakespeare Festival St. Louis called the Confluence Regional Writers Project.
