Door Shakespeare's 2024 Summer Season Enters Final Weeks
Door Shakespeare's 2024 summer season comes to a close on August 17, with two shows running in alternating repertory. William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30; and Jane Austen's Emma runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 and Saturdays at 5.
Write On Partners With Door Shakespeare For A Sonnet Writing Contest!
Write On is pleased to partner with Door Shakespeare for a sonnet writing contest in anticipation of Door Shakespeare's production of 'As You Like It,' running June 29 through August 26, in the Garden of Björklunden, Baileys Harbor. In the play, the character Orlando pins verses on the trees in the Arden Forest, declaring his love for Rosalind. Sonnets submitted to the contest will be incorporated into the set design of 'As You Like It.' Who doesn't want to see their poetry on stage?!
Door Shakespeare's Producing Artistic Director Steps Down
After four and a half years with Door Shakespeare, Michael Stebbins is stepping down from his position as Producing Artistic Director, effective May 31st. Stebbins had intended to resign at the end of the year, but that plan was accelerated due to an injury which prevented him from being on site with the theater this summer.
Door Shakespeare to Present THE TEMPEST and THE THREE MUSKETEERS, A MUSICAL ADVENTURE
Door Shakespeare announces its summer 2022 lineup of The Tempest, by William Shakespeare, and The Three Musketeers: An Adventure, with Music, a play by Joe Pine, based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas, with music and lyrics by Scott McKenna Campbell. The season runs June 22 through August 27, 2022 on Door Shakespeare's outdoor stage on the grounds of Björklunden in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin.
The 47th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards Are Announced
As part of the annual recognition of theater excellence, the 47th Non-Equity Jeff Awards today announced honorees in 21 artistic and technical categories. Recipients included 27 theater artists whose work was featured at 14 theater companies during the 2019-2020 season.
