HER MOST RECENT ENDEAVORS..
In 2021 Josephine joined the cast of "On Your Feet", playing Gloria Fajardo, Gloria Estefan's mother, with Prather Productions. Performing 8 to 9 shows a week, surpassing over 100 shows, she delved into not only the stamina and discipline of what it takes to keep up with her craft, but also explored themes such as motherhood immigration and redemption. Gloria Fajardo possessed such an unwavering strength that Josephine was inspired to grow in so many ways not only as an actor but as a human.
SINGER-SONGWRITER : As a songwriter, Josephine Phoenix released 3 pop songs ; "As Long as your Home", "Some Things", and the groovy ballad "You & I" . She was chosen by YouTube to Live Record "Some Things" as "Artists to watch" based at the time in Miami Fl, as well as by Fania Records Youtube, to put her spin on the Celia Cruz song "Dime Si Llegue a Tiempo". She and her "band of boys" played numerous shows through out South Florida and NYC, including busking in New York City subway stations. Her music is available for download on iTunes, Google Play and other outlets.
TOUR: As a back up singer and musician she toured for such Latin artists as Ricardo Montaner, who has sold over 65 million records worldwide. With Montaner she played clarinet, box and sang to sold out stadiums and venues with over 20 thousand people in attendance across South America. She also toured with Spanish artist Beatriz Luengo and Yotuel Romero through out Mexico and the Caribbean. Yotuel Romero won the Latin Grammy for song of the year "Patria y Vida" in 2021. Most recently she was a musician for the one man show "Y Si Me Caso" with host and actor Julian Gil, where she played guitar and clarinet alongside a fully female band and exercised her comedic chops throughout Florida and Mexico.
REALITY TELEVISION: Josephine Phoenix was a part of an eclectic cast on WeTv's "My Life is a Telenovela" . An 8 episode reality series following the real lives of popular actresses and actors who star in telenovelas ( Spanish soap operas ), where she dealt with being "not voluptuous enough" for a Latina in that industry and where her New York theater school training wasn't of much service in the tele-novela world.
RADIO: Throughout 2007 and 2008 she co hosted the morning show on 94.9FM, clearchannel, in Miami. There, Josephine was the comedic relief , nicknamed "La Pepa", she injecting her trademark humor in between songs and leading the prank call segments alongside such radio personalities as Ismael Cala, Humberto "El Gato", and Diane Fong. She interviewed such high profile celebrities as Luis Fonsi, Chayenne, Gloria Trevi and Shakira.
CRUISE SHIPS: In 2018 she formed a trio ( Phoenix Trio ) and entertained guests on the MSC Seaside for a 4 month contract singing an array of music from pop, rock, R&B, and show tunes. Including music in various languages ; Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Josephine was also part of the production show cast on OpenWide Internationals "New Flamenco" sailing the Mediterranean.
FILM: Her most recent project "Nereus", named "Drowning Echo" in the USA, debuted at the HBO Latino Film Festival at the Times Square AMC in New York City. Directed by Georges Paday, Drowning echo is a suspense thriller, where we follow Sara ( played by Itziar Martinez ), a young woman experiencing uncomfortable visions and is attacked by an unearthly creature in her friend's swimming pool. Josephine plays "Kate", a nurse and close friend that aids Sara to answer if these are hallucinations or if there really is something mystical in the complex pool.
