On Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 6:00 pm, CVRep will present the staged reading of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. Directed by Charles Pasternak who will also play the role of Algernon, this two hour staged reading features a stellar cast, comprised of theatre’s best. Cast includes: Easnestine Phillips (Lady Bracknell), Scott Wentworth (Dr. Chesuble), Marion Adler (Miss Prism), Jono Eiland (Jack), Charlotte Munson (Gwendolyn), Cindy Nguyen (Cecily) and Will Block (Merriman). The Importance of Being Earnest is a trivial comedy for serious people. The protagonists maintain fictitious personae to escape burdensome social obligations. Set in the late Victorian London, the high farce and witty dialogue have made The Importance of Being Earnest Wilde’s most enduringly popular play.
