Jazz Girls Day is a daylong masterclass event at Idyllwild Arts Academy, designed for female-identifying musicians aged 10-18. Founded by Dr. Colleen Clark, the initiative addresses gender disparity in jazz by providing an environment that encourages learning and community-building. Participants will engage in masterclasses, jam sessions, and a concert, promoting jazz education in a supportive setting. This event marks the first Jazz Girls Day in California, part of Clark’s vision to expand this initiative across all 50 states by 2030.
