The Encore Theatre District will open its 2018-19 Season with an exciting new adaptation of The Wizard Of Oz, running August 31 through September at The Palm Springs High School Blackbox Theatre.
Production notes state "This ain't your grandma's Oz! From the moment the spotlight shines on Dorothy and her clever dog, Toto, our enchanted tale begins as told by the Great Storyteller(Hal O'Conell)! Join Dorothy (Adrian Fernando Vera) as "she" navigates through the Land of Oz alongside a Scarecrow (Manny Rincon), a Tin Woodman (Jeremiah Rhoads) and a Lion (Brenna Williams) while adorned in her silver shoes! Together, the four characters interact with the Good Witch of the North (Payton Hoy) and set off on a mission to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West (Andrew Patscheck)! This retelling of a classic will amaze you with its adapted script by Claude Townley and the minimalistic storytelling by director Tiffanie Patscheck."
The Wizard of Oz will be presented at the Palm Springs High School Black Box August 31, September 1,7 and 8 at 7:00 pm, and September 2 and 9 at 2:00 pm.
