The Coachella Valley Symphony's 25th anniversary season of concerts ontinues with "Opera to Broadway" on Sunday, March 18 at 3:00p.m at The Annenberg Theatrev located at The Palm Springs Art Museum. "We've assembled some of the most brilliant singers showcasing their talents in both Opera and Broadway genres including: soprano, Caroline Nelms; baritone Zeffin Quinn Hollis and soprano, Jennifer Lindsay with a special guest appearance by the 2017 McCallum Theatre Open Call Winner Javier Triviso. This magnificent collection of voices backed by the Coachella Symphony will certainly be a sell out," said Lisa Lindley, President, Coachella Valley Symphony.
Soprano, Caroline Nelms received her Master's degree in vocal performance at UCLA. Her operatic roles include Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Gianetta (Gondoliers), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Gilda (Rigoletto), Frasquita (Carmen), and Violetta (Traviata) with Pacific Lyric. Caroline's musical theater credits include Anne Egerman and has been a soloist for the San Diego Festival Chorus, and Temecula Valley and Poway Symphonies.
Zeffin Quinn Hollis has been heard as a principal artist at many of the world's significant opera houses: Dallas Opera, New York City Opera, Long Beach Opera, Chicago Opera Theatre, New Orleans Opera and Santa Fe Opera. In addition to playing traditional roles, Mr. Hollis is equally identifiable in the top echelon of new music. He has worked on premiers from composers Jake Heggie, Tobias Picker, Tarik O'Regan; and at NYC Opera's famed VOX festival of new works.
Jennifer Lindsay is a Los Angeles-based soprano who has been a featured soloist with the San Diego Symphony, LA Philharmonic New Music Group and Pacific Symphony. Last spring, she was a Resident Artist at Opera Naples, where she covered Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, and over the summer she was a Bel Canto Young Artist at the Caramoor International Music Festival, where she covered the role of Zenobia in the U.S. premiere of Rossini's Aureliano In Palmira.
It is the mission of the Coachella Valley Symphony to perpetuate live symphony music and to provide public performance venues for both accomplished youth and adult musicians, to provide symphonic music education to young emerging musicians and to support diversity among individuals and within music presentations.
