Singer Jan Abrams will perform a tribute to Veterans Day show on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2 pm. The show entitled "I'll Be Seeing You", features songs made popular during WWII that brought comfort to our service men and women and their loved ones back home. The show is presented at the Arthur Newman Theater in Palm Desert where Ms. Abrams will be joined by musical director Christopher Marlowe on piano.
Jan is an accomplished cabaret singer with a dynamic voice who began her career in New York City then on to Los Angeles, and is now semi-retired to Palm Springs. Her style of song phrasing is a prime example of the art of cabaret, where the songs are almost like telling a story. She performs weekly at several senior living facilities as well as volunteering her time at Song Shine Foundation working with persons with Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, Neurological Disorders, or Aging Voices. Broadway veteran and desert local, Alix Korey acted as Jan's director for "I'll Be Seeing You" and she will be accompanied on piano by her acclaimed musical director, Christopher Marlowe. Tickets for the Sunday, November 11th at 2 PM show will be sold cash only at the door for $15 with doors opening at 1 PM. The Arthur Newman Theater is located at 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert, CA. For information call Les @ 760-325-2731.
