The greatest French songs of the post-war years will be in the spotlight at the McCallum Theatre at 8:00pm, Friday, March 20, in Paris! The Show, made possible through the generosity of Charles and Nancy Nevil. After the success of Piaf! The Show, starring the internationally acclaimed Anne Carrere, producer and creator Gil Marsalla created a brand-new show, also starring Carrere, highlighting the best French music. This spectacular evening is a vibrant tribute to the greatest French songs of the post-war era, capturing the charm and essence of Paris.
An exceptional cast, spectacular live band, original storyline and fantastic scenic design transport the audience from Montmartre to the stages of the great Parisian cabarets of the time.Paris! The Show features the greatest songs of Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Josephine Baker, Maurice Chevalier, Lucienne Boyer, Charles Trenet, Yves Montand and others-performed entirely in French.
The story focuses on Françoise (Stéphanie Impoco), a young girl who dreams of becoming a famous artist in Paris, after she arrives in Montmartre. On her journey, she'll cross paths with Edith Piaf (Anne Carrere), becoming her friend, confidante and soulmate. Françoise will fall in love with Charles Aznavour (Jules Grison), a young singer living in Pigalle. A romance will blossom between them in a city where love conquers all.
In 2009, while traveling, producer Marsalla sensed a real hunger from audiences all over the world to hear the classic French songs of the 20th century-songs made famous by great artists like Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel and Yves Montand. He decided to produce French cabaret shows and tour them internationally. Today, after producing more than 700 concerts worldwide, Marsalla is considered the leading producer of this kind of work.
