Before there was HAMILTON, Lin-Manuel Miranda made a name for himself with IN THE HEIGHTS, his musical about New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood, next to the GWB. (No, that's not George W. Bush - it's how the residents affectionately refer to the iconic George Washington bridge).

Usnavi, a bodega owner who looks after the aging Cuban lady next door who raised him, pines for the gorgeous girl working in the neighboring beauty salon and dreams of winning the lottery and escaping to the shores of his native Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, Nina, a childhood friend of Usnavi's, has returned from her first year at college with bad news - she has dropped out of Stanford. Ultimately, after laughter and tears, Usnavi and the residents of the close-knit neighborhood realize what it means to be home.

IN THE HEIGHTS is playing for four more shows at the Palm Canyon Theatre. The photos of the evocative set - complete with the GWB in the background - and the exuberant dancing give readers an idea of the experience that awaits them.

(Broadway World hopes to send a reviewer to the Thursday, July 13, 2017 performance.)

IN THE HEIGHTS will play on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 7:00 pm; on Friday and Saturday, July 14th and 15th, at 8:00 pm, and on Sunday, July 16th, at 2:00 p.m.
