Playwrights Guild of Canada has announced that Craft Bites is launching internationally.

Craft Bites was developed by PGC during the pandemic to foster community within artistic circles across the country. Playwrights were paired with colleagues from across Canada who read and shared a sample of their work and discussed their craft during online sessions. After two successful years, the popularity of Craft Bites has grown. This year, the Playwrights Guild of Canada has partnered with a number of international organizations with English-speaking playwrights to create new connections globally within the playwriting community. PGC is excited to welcome and partner with playwrights from The Lucille Lortel Theatre (NYC, USA), Nordic Drama Corner (Finland), The Playwrights Association of New Zealand (New Zealand), Playwrights’ Studio Scotland (United Kingdom), Theatre Arts (South Africa), Teksti (Finland), The Writers Guild of Finland (Finland), and the through the facilitation of board member August Andong, Women Playwrights International, Philippines.

Nancy Morgan, Executive Director, says “PGC has been delighted by the enthusiasm of playwrighting organizations from around the world wanting to participate in this program.  We hope this new, international iteration of Craft Bites will provide wonderful connections and interesting conversations.”

Join the global community as we listen to playwrights from across the country and around the world share their work and speak to their creative process. Craft Bites International runs September 27th, 2023 to February 15th, 2024. To view the schedule of events, and to register to watch for free, visit Playwrights Guild of Canada’s website HERE. For more information on the playwrights who will be featured and/or our international partners, visit our website HERE
