One week after the Great Canadian Theatre Company reopened following the multi-day power outage, the company is presenting $5500 to the Canadian Red Cross and the Ottawa Food Bank for tornado relief. During the closing week of its run, the cast of The Virgin Trial collected donations from GCTC audiences after each performance.

On Friday, October 5 at 1pm, GCTC will present a cheque to the Ottawa Food Bank in the lobby of the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre. GCTC patrons demonstrated an outpouring of support for victims of the tornado that wreaked havoc on Ottawa and Gatineau communities.

Members of the media are invited to photograph the cheque presentation taking place on Friday, October 5 at 1pm. Following the cheque presentation, members of GCTC and the Ottawa Food Bank will be available for brief interviews.
