Vanities, by Jack Heifner, is a bittersweet comedy that chronicles the lives of three Texas girls. We first meet the girls as high school cheerleaders in 1963, and visit them five years later in their college sorority house as they confront their future with nervous jauntiness. In 1974, they reunite briefly in New York where they find their friendship is strained and they no longer have anything in common. Vanities is an astute, snapshot sharp story of the friendship of three very different women.
