At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing… and anything is possible. Set in the melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, Ragtime weaves three American tales together as a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician, face the challenges of the age, united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future. They confront timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to be an American.
Encore! Cast Performing Arts is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated since 2002 to providing Disney Cast Members and their families an outlet for creativity and expression in the performing arts, as well as supporting charities that make Central Florida a better place to live. Since its inception, the Encore team has grown from a handful of Cast Members to a team of over 300, all of whom give their time and talent as volunteers. Through passion, dedication, and thousands of volunteer hours, the organization has collectively donated over a quarter of a million dollars to 14 charities in Central Florida.
Encore! Cast Performing Arts is proud to be supporting USO Central Florida as our beneficiary this year. The USO strengthens America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to our nation. That mission is accomplished on a daily basis thanks to the dedication and generosity of the American people. Whether it is a commitment of time from a volunteer or a contribution of dollars from a donor, USO Central Florida turns this generosity into centers, programs and services that reach troops across 14 counties in Central Florida.
