David A. McElroy celebrates the 25th Anniversary Season of our One Man presentation of A Christmas Carol written and performed by David A. McElroy. Mr. McElroy adapted for the stage and performs all 37 different characters. A Christmas Carol is directed by Chloe A. McElroy.
Ebenezer Scrooge has no use for Christmas, feeling it’s a waste of time and money. Scrooge hates Christmas cheer, warm wishes and most of all, the spirit of giving. He cares for no one, and no one cares for him. Then, on a foggy cold Christmas Eve night, Scrooge encounters the frightening presence of his dead partner, Jacob Marley, who forecasts three ghostly visits. The miser relives his past, looks at the present and is horrified by the future. In presenting this timeless tale, McElroy brings to wondrous life all of the characters of the Charles Dickens’ classic, including Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, Marley, The Three Ghosts and Ebenezer Scrooge. This solo interpretation is for both adults and children, which will delight and dazzle the audience!
Josh Garrick of Florida Culture: “David McElroy plays ALL 37 characters in his one-man presentation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In the tradition of the ancient story-teller, a look, a voice, a posture brings forth each character from Tiny Tim to the Three Ghosts – fascinating as the multi-talented Mr. McElroy goes forward sometimes changing characters without even taking a breath. This HIGHLY RECOMMENDED tour-de-force performance!”
