Community Stages Trunk & Trek Troupe presents: Christmas in Oz
Join us for a heartwarming adventure in Oz this holiday season! Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion are back, facing the wicked Miss Gulch, who’s ready to foreclose on the farm. When the gang travels to Oz for help, they find a surprising sign—“Closed for Christmas!” Undeterred, they decide to celebrate Christmas in Oz, with plenty of magic and music to go around. Even the Wicked Witch receives her first-ever Christmas present, a gift that changes her heart. Together, they discover that the true spirit of Christmas is all about sharing with others.
Featuring Christmas in Oz by Val Cheatham, this 45-minute musical brings the world of Kansas and Oz to life with eight songs and an uplifting message. Directed by Terry LeCompte, with music direction by Greg Doss and choreography by DeNaya Wilkerson, the Trunk & Trek Troupe—comprised of 14 talented young actors, ages 9-18—invites audiences to use their imaginations as they journey between worlds, all with the help of what’s inside their traveling show trunks.
